Mia, Selene, Channing, and I went to an orchard and picked apples, plums, and blackberries. I used the plums to make baby food for Mia, which she loved. The plan is to make applesauce with the apples this weekend. We had thought that we may make jam or do something "domestic" with the blackberries, but it took FOREVER to pick a bowl of them. So, we decided to call it quits and I used them for blackberry shortcake. :)
Channing loved the plums. I think he ate about 6 while we were there.
Mia's first time with a sippy cup. She basically just chewed it.
Our friends, Jebron, Amy, Isaiah, & Rasean came from La Grande to spend Labor Day weekend with us! We had a fun time hanging out!
Rasean is 2 months older than Mia.
Mia(6 months), Rasean(8 months), & Isaiah(2 years)
We spent the afternoon at Esther Short Park playing, listening to live music, and eating way too much of an elephant ear!
Mia made her first trip to the zoo! We picked a nice and rainy day. I think it was actually a blessing in disguise, because it would have been even more crowded if it would have been sunny!
Mia seemed to enjoy the zoo, although she couldn't see a lot of the animals, since she was in her stroller. Actually, we didn't see many animals anyway. They all seemed to be sleeping. She did get a good view of the fish, a snake, a turtle, and the new baby elephant. She also spent some time in the petting zoo, which she wasn't too fond of. I think she actually started crying when I tried to get her to pet the rabbit. :) I hope this isn't foretelling the future.
Petting the rabbit before she started crying!
Mia fell asleep in line to see the baby elephant. She woke up just in time.
The new baby elephant at the Portland Zoo. I have to say that I'm very thankful that God didn't make the human pregnancy as long as the elephant's pregnancy. :)
Can't you just see the excitement on Mia's face about the baby elephant? :)
Relaxing in Mom & Dad's bed after a long weekend!
