We sure had an adventurous past month. We spent a lot of time preparing for Baby Brother, subbing, nannying, sgoing to the library for story times, play dates, doctor appointments and much more. We tried to fit in as much as possible, since come this week we will be taking it easy for the next month with our new addition to the family!
We decided to have Mia participate in an activity/sport each month, so she can get used to following directions and taking instruction from people other than her family. Last month was art class, and this month was soccer at the Y….or we could call it kick the ball and run after it for 40 minutes! :)Mia was definitely hesitant at first, but each time she would participate after some help from Mommy or Daddy. A big bonus was getting to do soccer with her buddy, Siah, although at times they were in their own little world!
itting on the ball was one skill that Mia mastered in the class. :) At the beginning of the first class, she couldn’t do it. By the end of the first day, she was very proud that that she had figured it out! Siah & Mia ALWAYS had to sit by each other!
At this time, Mia and Siah were listening very intently to the coach……other times, not so much!!! :)
Soccer buddies!
Mia warming up for her last soccer class!
Mia was thrilled to have Daddy assist her when she didn’t feel comfortable doing it on her own. During my last month of pregnancy, I was thankful Maco was there to assist her, too. I think some of the people were worried I was going to go into labor when I would run up and down with Mia. :)
First, kicking goals….second, play with hair! This one makes me laugh!
After the last class, we all went to DQ for dinner and ice cream. The kids definitely enjoyed their Artic Rushes, which is evident by their red tongues! :)
Auntie/Niece date….Maco and I greatly appreciated our time together recently when Auntie Kelly took Mia on a special date!
Our little girl all grown up and ready to go on her date with Auntie!
They played at the mall play land!
Ate pretzels for a special treat!
Rode the merry-go-round!
And had a second special treat….ice cream! Mia is one lucky little girl to have an auntie that loves her so much!
Mia had her 3 year checkup at the dentist this month, and her favorite part is the little door and all the toys she gets to play with. Her not so favorite part is when the dentist looks at her teeth. She wouldn’t sit in the chair to get a cleaning, but fortunately the dentist said her teeth were so nice and clean, they didn’t even need to clean them anyway. Hopefully 6 months from now, she’ll be ready to sit in the chair all on her own!
Mia also had her 3 year checkup at the doctor’s this month. She definitely has grown….she’s almost 40 inches tall and 31.9 pounds. She still is one very tall and skinny little girl!
Daddy/Mommy/Daughter date to see the movie “Tangled”. This was the first movie that Maco and I have taken her to. She stood the entire movie and loved eating all of the movie snacks we brought! In this picture Mia is having her own little dance party in the aisle while the credits roll!
Daddy joins the dance party!
Mia’s first attempt to make her bed all on her own! Not bad, I’d say!
We went to a craft play date at Mia’s friend Alex’s house this month. She had fun making butterflies!
Practicing holding and rocking Baby Brother…..I think she’s strangling him!! Oops!
For St. Patrick’s Day I thought I’d go crazy and make green eggs for breakfast. :) Of course, Mia didn’t want green…..she wanted pink! Maybe pink will be our new St. Patrick’s Day color!
Mia and I had our very own tea party using some of my great-grandma’s teacups. She thought she was so big and cool!
Mia’s friend Noah had his 2nd birthday party at Cafe Sip and Play this month. Mia had a lot of fun playing with all of her friends and celebrating Noah’s birthday! Of course, her favorite part was eating cupcakes!
Look at this setup done by party planner extraordinaire, Sheila!! :)
Noah even had his very own special water bottles!
And check out these swag bags…..:)
Happy 2nd birthday, Noah!
And a couple more belly shots for those of you who've been asking…
