The Little Engine that........

COULD!!!!!!
The Energizer Bunnies!!!
The Cinderella Team!!
Regional Champions!!
Whatever you want to call them, that's just what the Union Titan basketball team is!!!
We upset Enumclaw(#3) on Friday night, again at the buzzer! That makes three games in a row won at the buzzer. Then we beat Lakes Saturday night by 11 to win the regional title. It was wonderful! They even got to cut down the net again! :) two nets down, one more to go!!!

You can go to https://www.edline.net/DocView.page and check out 2 articles written about Saturday night's game.

State starts on Wednesday! Union plays Lynwood at 5pm. If they win, they'll play at 7pm on Thursday. If they lose, they'll play Thursday at noon. You can go to http://carlclick.com/to listen to all of the games.

The 3 pictures below are from Friday night's win by 2 points.

A litle more subdued Maco! He just turned around and threw his hands up in disbelief!! :)

The pictures below are from the regional championship game.

Accepting the championship plaque!

If you're wondering why it's so dark in these last few pictures, it's because the person in charge decided it was time for our celebration to be over and turned off the lights on us. Wasn't that sweet?

By the way, a lot of the pictures I post of the basketball games are taken by our wonderful photographer, Kent. He's the father of Ryan who is on the team. I figured I had better give credit where credit is due. :) I also took a short video and a few pictures of the victory, but forgot my camera cord at home, so I couldn't post them. Mia and I decided(well, I guess she didn't have much choice in the matter:)) to make a little vacation out of it and are staying the week with our good friends, the Inversos! So we haven't been home since Friday!
Maco also got a little shout out in the Seattle Times this morning. You can check it out at http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/highschoolsports/2008829584_wyrwich09.html if you'd like! :)
I'll try and keep you all posted as to the outcome of Wednesday's game. Make sure you send all of your good thoughts our way at 5pm!! Go, Titans!!
