Once again, I can't believe how fast this past month has gone. This means that Mia's FIRST birthday is in 2 months!! No way!!! It can't be!! It seriously feels like we were just preparing for her birth! We can't believe how much she's changed in every way, especially physically, as you can see below. Sometimes, I can't even believe she ever was that little baby.
Dear Family & Friends,
I had a wonderful Christmas with my family! I can't wait until next year when I actually understand a little more about Christmas and start learning about the true meaning of Christmas.
Mommy took me to sit on Santa's lap, but I didn't like it very much. Actually I didn't like it at all! I screamed at the top of my lungs the moment I touched Santa's lap. I think Mommy was sad because she missed out on the photo op. Hopefully Santa won't be so scary next year. We'll see.
About a month ago I started dancing and clapping anytime I hear any music or anyone singing, even if they aren't very good. :) I even give high fives. I'm now so strong that I can hold my own bottle while I eat. Actually, I can feed myself my bottle and solid foods, so Mommy doesn't even have to do a thing. I think she still likes to though because she holds me on her lap while I feed myself. I also wave every time I hear someone say "bye bye". Basically I spend much of the day waving, clapping, and dancing. It's how I pass the time! I've even begun "cruising" a little around my new toy from Santa.
I'm looking forward to so many things in 2009, and I wish you all a happy and blessed new year!
Love,
Mia Rae Ann
We had some issues with our tree this year. Let's just say it didn't really like to stand straight up......It actually fell over, not once......but 3 times! I think we only lost one ornament in the whole ordeal!
It didn't bother Mia. She just crawled right around it!
Making Christmas cookies for Santa!
Mia got a little too into the flour!
Mia helped put up the star for Dec. 24th on our advent calendar. This calendar is very special to me because it was my grandma's. I loved this calendar, and she hung up every year in her living room. I was always excited to put up another symbol each day. It was one thing of my grandma's that was very important to me, and I'm thankful that I get to share it with my family.
Celebrating Merque's birthday with him!
Maco put Mia in her first timeout!!! For what you might ask, she's only 10 months old.........for not giving Daddy a kiss!!! It was too funny. Mia just took it in stride and clapped through it all!
Family dogpile!!
