Last week, Mia and I flew to Mesa to visit Yaya & Papa. This was Mia's first plane ride!
Waiting in the airport....trying to get Mia to fall asleep for her nap. It didn't happen. I guess she was too excited to take a nap!
All ready to go!! Luckily we had an open seat next to me. Mia sat on my lap on the way to AZ, so it was nice to have some space next to us for all of the "essentials". I was nervous about how the plane ride would go. Fortunately, they both went pretty well; nothing I couldn't handle!
Mia loved spending time with her grandparents for 5 days, although I think she wore Papa out!
Wearing her Mariner pj's. Thanks, Siri!
We took a walk to the pond. Actually Mia's friend, Austin, was more interested in feeding her. He'd put a puff in her mouth and then take it out again. I'm not sure if she ever actually ate one!
Feeding the duckies....
Apparently dog food is very nutritious for the ducks. Mia helped throw some in, but I had to pay close attention that she didn't eat it herself.
Trying to take a picture of the Phoenix lights in the background....Aren't they beautiful??
At the park.....
This was my attempt to take a picture of the two of us going down the slide for the first time. Not the best picture I've ever seen!
I'm so happy because Mia hasn't cried during the last two baths we've given her. Hopefully this continues at home.
Can you see the hair?? It's coming in slowly, but surely!
Recently, Mia has begun pulling herself up on things. She pulls up to her knees quite well, and it still working on pulling up to a standing position.
FYI: The videos are primarily for Auntie Katie and probably won't be very interesting to anyone else! :)
Out to breakfast.......This was the first time Mia has sat in a high chair at a restaurant! She ate LOTS of Cheerios while we ate! I'm now learning that these are a saving grace!! She ate a lot of them on the plane, too!
We had a swimming play date with Austin. The pool was almost 90, so it was so nice! I wasn't sure what Mia would think of the pool since she's been crying during bath time for over a month and she's only been in a pool one other time. She was a little apprehensive at first, but once she got used to it, she was kicking away!
We went to an arts & crafts festival and Mia spent a little time in the grass. Well, actually her belly spent some time on the grass! She wouldn't put her arms or legs on the grass. She just struck a Superman pose. It was pretty cute! Normally when she's on the grass, she's on a blanket. So she's not used to directly touching the grass. :)
Playing Patty Cake with Yaya!
I let Mia feed herself. She's only done this one other time(because I'm too much of a control and clean freak!) She did a great job feeding herself, and she only dropped the spoon a couple of times.(Yaya & Papa, don't worry; we had a towel underneath!) :)
This is a sideways video, but I was trying to capture Mia pulling herself up! :)
