Super Couponing Weekend!

Thought I'd share about my savings, because you too can do this if you'd like. It's so easy and there are many resources available online to help!

Mia and I went on  a walk last week to Safeway and Fred Meyer to score the above deals. We got all of  the items for $19.50. The cookies alone would have been $16 at full price. I got each of them for about $1.(I saved about $25 in this trip.) This was a fine day of savings, but the REAL savings comes in the picture below! :)

Before my weekend shopping trip to Walgreens and Rite-Aid  I was wondering if  I was really saving much money and if it was all worth it. Well, I'm a true believer now!  I came out of my first trip to Walgreens walking away with 6 cleaning supplies, nothing paid out of pocket, and they owed me $3!! ( I think I'm set on stain remover for about 2 years...maybe longer!)

Above is a picture of all the items that I got at both stores this weekend, and you'll be shocked(well maybe not) to find out that I only spent.........$8!!!! Without sales, coupons, and rebates, the total would have been almost $80!!!!

For those of you that think it's too time consuming to do, it really isn't.  I just check out some websites for ideas about deals at the stores and cut out coupons from the paper or print them off the Internet.

And for those of you that aren't into rebates, I wasn't at first either. But then I realized that the stores have made the process very easy by giving you the option of entering the receipts online. You can enter the receipts as you go through the month and then submit your rebates at the end of the month. It's very easy! Also, a lot of the items I purchased will be free after rebate, so it's much more enticing requesting rebates when I'll get back a total of $25, rather than just  sending off  a rebate for $1.(Although I will do those rebates, too! I figure it all adds up, and if I save $1 a day, that's $365 for the year. I'm planning on saving way more than that.)

When I first started this idea of trying to save money I began signing up for a lot of freebies. (FYI: I do recommend getting an email account specifically for this reason because there is A LOT of  junk mail that comes with signing up for free samples, etc.) Most of the offers say to expect your free item in about 4-8 weeks.

Well, I've already gotten a few freebies in the mail in just a couple of weeks. So far I've gotten Huggies coupons, a pack of a new gun, and a coloring book. But  the best freebies that I've received so far are the rebates for 4 cans of Nutramigen formula worth $25 each.(This formula is the most expensive at $25-28 a can, which is the same size as a $15 can of regular formula!) That's $100 worth of formula.(Just in case you couldn't do the math yourself.) In the 3 1/2 months we've been giving Mia formula, we've yet to pay for it, thanks to generous samples from our doctor and special deals I've found along the way. I figure we've saved around $500 so far!

Amazing!!! I feel so blessed, and we definitely thank God for continuing to provide for our family!
