Well, 3 weeks ago, Maco was on his way to Union for a b-ball workout with the team and got the text that would drastically change the traectory of his career and our family's life! George Fox University contacted Maco to apply for their head Men's basketball job, and 2 weeks later, he accepted their offer with a 3 year contract.
In no way was maco planning or wanting to leave union. We figured he would apply and go through the process to get the experience. Maco prepared like crazy! I wish u all could have seen this amazing 60 page binder he put together for the hiring committee at the interview, heard him when practicing interview questions, and read the recommendation emails/letters or heard the calls that former players, parents, and coaches sent/made to the athletic director on his behalf! They were so humbling! All the questions and concerns that we had about taking this job, were answered with the answers we were looking for. We realized that if he truly wanted to coach at the collegiate level, this was the place to do so! Maco has such a passion for coaching, basketball,God, and transforming lives! I am so proud of him and feel honored to walk to on this new journey with him!
We aren't moving as of now.....maco will commute the one hour each way, and fortunately his hours are flexible so he can avoid traffic! We will see how the first couple years go and may eventually move to Sherwood or somewhere close to Newberg. As u all know, I do NOT want to move, but obviously we need to make the best decision for our family!
Check out the article in the Columbian below! There will also be an introductory press conference on Friday at the MAC club in Portland if anyone wants to come out and support him! Kinda crazy!!:)
Go, Bruins!:)

Summer ballet & tap class! Mia really enjoys dance and it's fun watching her learn!

Daddy & Kyrie supporting Mia at dance!

Kyrie is always asking, "Is it my turn?" when we're at soccer, dance, or any activity for Mia. So he was thrilled when he got to put on her ballet slippers!

And I asked Kyrie to put his hand on the bar for the picture, but he insisted on standing with his hands on his hips like this! ;)

Kyrie doesn't need an official soccer team to play!
