Mia started her first session of swimming lessons this month. It’s kind of funny because I remember calling around when she was about 1 month old trying to find places that would do parent & tot lessons before 6 months old because I was so eager to do things with her. Here she is at almost 2 1/2 and just starting……Oh well…..I found other things to participate in. ;)
I was a little worried about how she’d do, since she isn’t in the water that much. She did great, although she is a little apprehensive about the instructor, since he’s a man. :) She’s very good at kicking, and not too into going under the water, but we’ll work on that. We’ll be swimming on vacation soon, so hopefully her newly found water skills will come in handy!
Getting ready for our first class….I think we arrived about 45 minutes early….can you tell I was a little nervous, too???? :)
Great first swimming lesson!
Hiding in the locker!
(All smiles getting ready for her lesson with Daddy! )
I was shocked(and very happy) when Maco said he wanted to do the lesson with her last week. For those of you who know him well, you know he’s not the biggest water person! :) But he really wanted to do this with Mia.
Unfortunately, Mia hadn’t seen him for a week(we were out of town) and is still a little nervous in the water, so she struggled. And by struggled, I mean continuously cried! Then every time she would see me in the viewing area, she would cry more. Luckily I brought my swimsuit, so I got in the pool with them and Maco and I did it together, which was a lot of fun!
The viewing area is behind glass, so the pictures didn’t turn out very well.
During the big heat wave we had recently, we were happy to cool ourselves off at my aunt and uncle’s house this month. Mia had fun playing with Sam and Xander, but the water was FREEZING!!! We still managed to have a great time!
