So for a long time my sisters have wanted to get a tattoo in memory of my mom, but I have been VERY resistant!! It was hard for me to grasp the idea of having something on my body PERMANENTLY! When I pierced my nose, I knew I could take it out down the road when I didn’t want it any more.(I know some of you are thinking, “What, Shayna had her nose pierced??” Yes, it’s true. It was a cute little diamond, and to be honest, I wish I still had it!! :)) Anyway, I finally decided that I would buck up and do it because it was so sentimental and I didn’t want to let my sisters down. We decided to use some of my mom’s handwriting for the tattoo. We put, “Love you so much- Mommy xoxo My mom wrote this in a card for Katie’s 3rd birthday. I was a little unsure as to how it would look, but we all love it! I am so happy that after 15 years, when I was starting to forget my mom and not thinking about her as often as I wanted, I can now look down at my foot and have a daily reminder of her and her abundant love for us!
Since it was Kelly’s idea, we made her go first!!
Here’s my, “This doesn’t hurt as much as I thought, but it sure doesn’t feel good” look!! :)
We stopped by my mom’s grave on the way home. I think this was the first time we’ve all come together since the memorial service.
Thanks, Little Sisters, for encouraging me to do this! I’m really glad we did! ;)
