Mia has celebrated her 18 month birthday!! I really can't believe it! It's amazing how mature she's getting. She follows directions very well and is such a big helper! One of her favorite sayings is, "Oh man!!" I have no idea where she got that!! :) She's starting to count and has 1, 2 down pat. She's beginning to sing the alphabet song, too!
We had her 18 month appointment last week, and everything looks great. She weighed a whopping 21 lbs & 10 oz, which is in the 12th percentile. And she is 32 1/4 inches long, which is in the 70th percentile. So, as you can see, she is long and skinny. Her head is getting bigger, going from the 10th to the 25th percentile. It must be getting bigger due to the gigantic vocabulary she has in there. She talks so much, and we love it!! We've had such a wonderful summer as a family, and we're sad to see Maco go back to work. But it gives us special time as Mama and daughter.
Hope you enjoy some of the pictures over the past month!
PS. The videos below are mainly for Auntie Katie because she's always hounding me for some. They are probably not too exciting to anyone else. :) I won't be offended if you skip them.
Trying on Daddy's U of O slippers!
Mia has such a fascination with rocks!
Mia helped Auntie Kelly and me at our garage sale!
She was a great attraction to the sale!!
Playtime with Daddy!
Hide & Seek....one of Mia's new favorite games!
Auntie Albany came and visited this month. It's been a year since we've seen her and Mia had a great time playing with her Auntie.
Visiting Ella & Bradley at "Auntie" Jamie's garage sale!
Mia helped the kids sell lemonade at their garage sale.
Mia has finally begun throwing some tantrums every now and then. Mostly it's when we won't give her her "binkie" or "blankie" or when we won't give her anymore "nack"(snacks)! At least for now, we can still redirect her pretty easily and she forgets about the tantrum. I had to catch one on tape, because they kind of make me laugh. I'm sure they won't be very humorous for long. :)
We celebrated Maco's Great-Aunt Mary's 90th birthday!
Fun times with the clean laundry!
Mia loves to ride on Daddy's back and sometimes he even rides on hers. :)
Sittee broke her wrist, so we've spent some time hanging out at her house so she can see her favorite girl!!
We went to a pool party on a 90 degree day this month. Mia wasn't too sure about the freezing cold water in the pools, but she loved drinking the water out of the spray ground.
Mia loves to help and this time she got to help Daddy wash the car!
This picture just makes me laugh. I caught it while she was looking away, but it looks like she's rolling her eyes. :)
We went to a Read & Play with the Neslands. Mia and Channing loved the water table. Mia was completely soaked by the time we left.
This is how the two sat during the story time. :) Do you see Mia's hand on Channing's leg? I think they're a little young for public affection!!
Mia and her favorite fruit....watermelon!!! And the crazy thing is she can say watermelon!! It's just too cute!!
Mia wants to be independent and one of the ways is by brushing her own teeth. Of course, she doesn't actually brush, just sucks all the water out.
If you tell Mia to do a handstand, she does bends over and puts her head on the ground. It's pretty funny to watch!
I put a toddler potty in our bathroom about a month back and every once and awhile I would have Mia sit on it with her diaper on. Recently I started taking her diaper off and she went potty in it 3 times this past week. Unfortunately, once she went number two in the potty she hasn't gone since. She was a little scared of it!! :) She'll still sit on the potty, but nothing happens. Hopefully it didn't scar her for life. She doesn't really show many of the signs for being ready to potty train, but I didn't think it could hurt.
I have to admit that an actual tear came to my eye when she used the potty for the first time. Isn't that ridiculous?? No tears came when she crawled or walked for the first time! I must have been emotional or something that day. :)
Mia got to help celebrate her friend, Isaiah's, third birthday!! Happy birthday, Isaiah!
