Happy 8 Months, Mia!!

We've been staying busy this past month! I finally started subbing regularly,(Mon/Wed), which has been fun! I've subbed a couple days of elementary PE, which I really enjoyed. I've also subbed 1st grade and 5th grade, both grades I thought weren't for me. I now realize that I'd enjoy teaching any elementary grade. They each have their advantages and disadvantages. It's reassuring to know that I would feel comfortable teaching any grade.(I think!!)  Mia has enjoyed her time with her grandparents while I've been subbing. Thank you, Yaya, Papa, & Sittee!banana bread3

Mia helped me make her first loaf of banana bread this month!

She looks a little lost in the kitchen! Hopefully she's not mimicking the look on my face while cooking!

Of course, I had to get a picture of Mia's first tooth, teeth actually! This was a difficult task, since she normally sticks out her tongue when she opens her mouth. If you look closely, you should be able to see both of her bottom teeth. They came in a week or so after Mia turned 7 months, and they popped up within a day of each other. She was pretty fussy and miserable for a couple of weeks, but we managed!

Dear Family & Friends,

I can't believe I'm 8 months old already! It seems like just yesterday that I entered into this world! As I get older, I'm exploring everything! I love slithering around on my tummy to get places, especially when Daddy comes home! I can't slither fast enough(or jump out of Mommy's arms) to him each afternoon.  I haven't gotten up on my knees yet, but I think it will be soon. I can sit up on my own, but I'd much rather be on my belly, so I spend most of my time it that position.

A few weeks ago I got my first 2 teeth. It hurt a lot, but Mommy and Daddy took good care of me.  Now they have to brush them, so they remain healthy. We'll see how long it takes to get some more. I'm even getting more hair, but I still think I probably won't need a haircut before my second birthday!

My personality is coming out even more these days! Mommy and Daddy have been having a lot of fun getting to know me more each day. I am very curious and love to just sit quietly and take in my surroundings. Sound like anyone you know??  I am usually a happy baby, although I don't just give away smiles for nothing. When I do give that big grin, it melts people's hearts! At least that's what Mommy tells me.

Mommy and I are still doing lots of fun activities! We're going to storytime, Baby Boot Camp classes, Kindermusik, and other great things.  I'm looking forward to dressing up for Halloween later this week. Of course, Mommy will take lots of pictures so you won't miss out!

I love you!
